Paul Lacombe signed a four-year contract with LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, the French team announced on Friday. Seven years after his departure, Lacombe returns to his first team.
“Despite leaving in 2013, I obviously kept a very special place in my heart for the team,” mentioned ASVEL’s first addition ahead of the 2020-21 season, “Returning to ASVEL at some point was a no-brainer. I am happy it was done now.”
The 29-year-old French swingman joined SIG Strasbourg in 2013 and went on with AS Monaco from 2017. His ASVEL comeback marks his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague return as well.
“I am back to my first team, the club that trusted me from the start and promoted me to the highest level. I am back home,” he added, “The Astroballe, the supporters, the EuroLeague. It’s all great. I can’t wait.”
His shortened 2019-20 campaign featured 6.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per 7DAYS EuroCup contest. Lacombe also put up 5.5 points per Jeep Elite Pro A game.
