Zalgiris Kaunas coach Sarunas Jasikevicius hopes to keep the roster of the team as intact as possible ahead of the new season in order to continue building on what began in 2019-2020.
“It’s difficult to say anything about the team right now since not a lot of the players are free agents. A lot of them have plus options in their contracts. If a player leaves we will have to look for the best replacement. It shouldn’t necessarily be the same kind fo player, the same style. Last year we paid a lot of attention to universality. If a player leaves then we can push another guy to his position or something like that. It’s a bit too early to talk about it. The main point is keeping all the players but that’s not on the coach’s hands,” Jasikevicius said while talking about how next season’s roster will be formed during an interview for Zalgiris TV.
“I imagine, if we managed to keep all the players who go through the system, it’d be something unreal,” Jasikevicius also mentioned.
Jasikevicius also talked about the cancelation of the season and made an assessment of the performance of his team.
