Crvena Zvezda mts officially parted ways with Dragan Sakota on Monday. Sasa Obradovic will be the incoming head coach, as previously reported.
Obradovic, 51, a Crvena Zvezda legend as a player, is back in Belgrade, this time to take charge of the Serbian club ahead of the 2020-21 season. His previous coaching stints include ALBA Berlin, Lokomotiv Kuban, and most recently AS Monaco.
Sakota, 67, returned as the boss of Crvena Zvezda during the 2019-20 season, shortened due to the coronavirus pandemic. Under his guidance, the Red-Whites ranked 14th in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 3rd in the ABA League until the premature ending of the 2019-20 editions of both competitions.
