Nick Calathes and Barcelona have agreed on a three-year guaranteed deal, according to Eurohoops sources, with the official announcement coming soon.

31-year-old Calathes has been released by Panathinaikos despite their contract which was valid until the summer of 2021 and would pay him 2,3M euros for next season, after two long tenures with the club (2009-2012, 2015-2020).

The Greek American guard led the Greens with an average of 13.3 points, 9.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds across 28 EuroLeague games during the 2019-20 season, prior to its cancelation due to the coronavirus outbreak.

A star of the Greek national team and the leader of Panathinaikos, Calathes has won the EuroLeague back in 2011, he was an All-EuroLeague first team member in 2018 and in 2019 and has also won six Greek championship titles with Panathinaikos and also the EuroCup with Lokomotiv Kuban.

He is currently second in the all-time list of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague passers with 1260 assists and fourth in steals (298).
