After nearly a week of negotiations in Istanbul, there is no done deal yet between Zeljko Obradovic and Fenerbahce for a contract extension. Per Eurohoops sources and as earlier reported, there has been big progress in the last couple of days, and following Friday’s talks, now Obradovic has a scheduled trip back to Belgrade.
While there has not yet been an outcome after this week’s meetings despite the progress, Obradovic will inform Fenerbahce for his final decision by the start of next week.
Obradovic and Fenerbahce GM Maurizio Gherardini met with club president Ali Koc and Fenerbahce vice president Semih Ozsoy on Tuesday and also on Wednesday night and the two sides have been in constant contact, discussing the future of the team. The two main parts of the negotiations so far include the budget reduction, for which President Koc spoke of on Monday, as well as the existing contracts of the team, as Ismael Senol reported Thursday.
UPDATE: Per Fenerbahce’s official statement, the negotiations between the team and Obradovic have been completed whilst confirming that the decision will be announced in the coming days.
