Bayern and coach Andrea Trinchieri have agreed in principle to a deal that will bring the Italian coach back to EuroLeague and the German League, as reported by nova.rs and confirmed by Eurohoops sources.
Trinchieri, who spent the previous two seasons with Partizan, was reportedly asked to take a 20% reduction on his salary for the 2020-2021 season, due to the overall budget reduction of the club.
Following that, the Italian coach used the opt-out option on his three-year contract he signed with Partizan back in 2018. Trinchieri has worked in the past with Bayern Italian general manager Daniele Baiesi in Brose Bamberg. Their relationship was tense when Trinchieri left Bamberg, but that’s no longer the case.
As Nova also reported, Partizan’s current assistant coach Vlado Scepanovic will be promoted to the head coach position.
Bayern Munich since parting ways with Dejan Radonjic. Velimir Perasovic was one of the first candidates to replace him and the German club was recently linked with Zvezdan Mitrovic. However, Mirotic denied any contact with Bayern.
