Dusko Ivanovic will remain the KIROLBET Baskonia head coach for the 2020-21 season, the Spanish team announced on Thursday. President Josean Querejeta previously commented on the 62-year-old Montenegrin staying with the Vitoria-Gasteiz club.
Ivanovic returned to Basque outlet for third stint midway through the 2019-20 season ultimately leading his side to the ACB championship, his third overall with the team. Other domestic titles include lifting the Copa del Rey trophy in 2002, 2004, 2007, and 2009.
The premature conclusion of the 2019-20 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season due to the coronavirus pandemic held Baskonia to a 12-16 record. On his part, Ivanovic added on the overall W-L tally of 412-201 between ACB and EuroLeague as the Baskonia boss.
Apart from his current side, Ivanovic has served as the head coach at Besiktas, Khimki, Panathinaikos, Barcelona, Limoges, and Fribourg at the club level. He also took over the Switzerland national team from 1997 to 2000.
