The signing of Nikola Milutinov and soon-to-be official acquisition of Tornike Shengelia by CSKA Moscow were two power moves that former “Army Men” star Andrei Kirilenko pretty much expected to happen.
“The appearance of Shengelia and Milutinov on CSKA does not surprise me, they have been pursued for a long time. Moreover, after the loss of several players, including captain Kyle Hines, I was sure that the “Army” would have a bolstering,” Kirilenko said to RIA Novosti.
Kirilenko, the current Russian Basketball Federation president, had stints with CSKA Moscow in 1998 – 2001, 2011-2012 and 2015. The former NBA All-Star won EuroLeague MVP and DPOY as a player of the Russian powerhouse in 2012.
