Nick Calathes has officially left Panathinaikos after eight seasons, the club announced Friday. Calathes is headed to FC Barcelona, with which he has agreed to a three-year guaranteed deal as Eurohoops prior reported. The official announcement is expected soon.
31-year-old Calathes has been released by Panathinaikos despite their contract which was valid until next summer. During the 2019-20 season, the Greek American guard led the Greens with an average of 13.3 points, 9.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds across 28 EuroLeague games, prior to its cancelation due to the coronavirus outbreak.
