Zenit Saint-Petersburg tabbed Kevin Pangos for the 2020-21 season, the Russian club announced on Monday confirming Eurohoops’ report regarding the next challenge for the 27-year-old Canadian guard.
“I look forward to playing under the leadership of such a great coach as Xavi Pascual,” he said per the press release, “I have heard a lot about the club and the great city. I can’t wait for the moment to come and begin preparations for the successful season. My family and I can’t wait to arrive at Saint-Petersburg.”
Pangos was sidelined for the majority of the 2019-20 season with a foot injury and eventually concluded his run with FC Barcelona. He joined the Spanish powerhouse back in 2018 adding on his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague appearances during the 2018-19 season.
“We are pleased to announce that Kevin Pangos is joining our team,” noted head coach Xavi Pascual, “He will bring aboard his leadership qualities, multiple offensive options and constant threat to the opponents. At 27, he has already gained extensive EuroLeague experience.”
Zenit will be his fourth team in Europe’s premier continental competition. Apart from his 35 games with Barca, the Gonzaga alum made his way to 66 matches with Zalgiris Kaunas and 19 with Gran Canaria.
