Baskonia is close to signing free-agent center Tonye Jekiri according to SDNA’s Tolis Kotzias. The Nigerian big man spent the previous season in France with ASVEL Villeurbanne.
Jekiri, 25, comes off his debut EuroLeague season. He averaged 8.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 23:53 minutes over 27 EuroLeague games and was widely considered as one of the top newcomers of the competition.
Baskonia parted ways with center Micheal Eric on Tuesday (7/7), something which leaves a vacant post on the frontline that Jekiri can cover.
