Ben Lammers inked a three-year contract to join ALBA Berlin, the German club announced on Friday. RETAbet Bilbao previously confirmed his departure from the Spanish outlet.
“I am happy with the opportunity to come to Berlin because ALBA is a very well-known club and plays at the top European level,” he said per his new team’s official website, “ALBA’s coaching staff has established itself for developing players and I hope to improve in the years to come.”
Coming out of Georgia Tech, the 24-year-old American center launched his professional career with Bilbao starting from Spain’s second division. After helping his side earn the ACB promotion, he averaged 7.7 points and 4.9 rebounds per ACB match prior to the hiatus, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, and returned with 8.0 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in the season-ending tournament.
ALBA opened up by bringing in swingman Simone Fontecchio and progressed with the next piece on the 2020-21 roster granting Lammers the opportunity for his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut. He will also make his first easyCredit BBL appearance during the upcoming season.
