Nicolas Laprovittola wanted to have a more prominent role next season and he will get it, either in Athens or in Madrid. The 30-years old Argentinian point guard and Panathinaikos have a verbal commitment for next season, however, he will play for the Greens only if Real Madrid decides to part ways with him.
The “Whites” are still unsure about the future of Facundo Campazzo who is getting more and more traction from the NBA. If Campazzo leaves Europe and Real Madrid, then Laprovittola’s presence in Madrid’s roster is a must or a new player with a European passport, due to the Liga Endesa restrictions, has to be signed.
However, if Campazzo stays, then Laprovittola’s wish is to move to another team and Real Madrid seems ready to accommodate it.
For the moment, Panathinaikos is willing to wait for the final outcome on Campazzo’s and Laprovittola’s fate, even if the NBA free-agency will start in October. That’s why the Greeks will not move in the market for any other point guard, at least in the upcoming weeks.
