Jock Landale clarified via the Lithuanian outlet 15min that he is no longer part of Zalgiris Kaunas’ plan for the 2020-21 season. The 24-year-old Australian forward/center had already set his sights on the NBA.

“When I explained that my goal is to play in the NBA and test the free agency market, they responded that I will not remain part of their plan for the next season. It was simple, nothing more,” he said, “If I don’t make it to the NBA, I would like the opportunity to return to Kaunas, but Zalgiris’ current position is as it is.”

The Saint Mary’s alum went pro in 2018 with Partizan. One year later he inked a 1+1 deal with the LKL champions and with the Lithuanian side under the guidance of Sarunas Jasikevicius debuted in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

His 2019-20 run, shortened by the coronavirus pandemic saw him produce 11.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per EuroLeague match. He also put up 7.3 points per contest at the domestic level.
