Panathinaikos announced they have extended Giorgos Kalaitzakis’ contract for two more seasons on Tuesday.
The 21-year-old shooting guard spent the 2019-20 season on loan to Lithuanian side Nevezis and he averaged 12.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steal per game before the Lithuanian League was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Following the early end of the season, Kalaitzakis then returned to Athens to join Panathinaikos‘ practices.
During his time with the Greens, he was named Greek League champion for three consecutive seasons (2017-2019) and helped the team lift three Greek Cups (2016, 2017, 2019).
