Real Madrid began its preseason games with a 79 – 69 win over fellow ACB team Estudiantes.
Edy Tavares led a balanced Real offense with 12 points, Usman Garuba and Anthony Randolph scored 11 points apiece while Alberto Abalde had 10 points in his debut with the “Blancos.”
For Estudiantes, Aleksa Avramovic drooped a game-high 27 points and Alec Brown posted 14 points. Their team was up 40 – 34 at halftime until Real Madrid made a 7 – 0 and 15 – 2 run to get a 57 – 36 lead near the end of the third period, thanks to Abalde, Garuba and Tavares. Pablo Laso’s team remained up for the remainder of the match.
