Khimki Moscow Region announced the addition of Errick McCollum for the upcoming season.

“Becoming a part of Khimki is an opportunity that I could not miss,” he said upon inking his one-year contract, per his new side’s official site, “The club is established in playing at the highest level and fighting for the top spots. A great coach and great organization.”

McCollum, 32, set himself up for his third straight VTB campaign following the two previous seasons with UNICS Kazan and for his first Turkish Airlines EuroLeague appearance since the 2017-18 season with Anadolu Efes.

“He has plenty of experience having played very well for both Anadolu Efes and UNICS Kazan,” pointed out head coach Rimas Kurtinaitis, “We really needed a point guard. We were looking for a player in this position all summer and eventually opted for Errick.”

“He knows the VTB and EuroLeague well,” added Kurtinaitis, “He is an all-around player who can score himself and pass the ball. I think he will reach his best with his new teammates.”

Last season, shortened by the coronavirus pandemic, the well-rounded guard completed his second run in Russia after previously playing in Turkey, China, Greece, and Israel throughout his professional career. C.J. McCollum’s older brother recorded 17.1 points, 4.0 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per 7DAYS EuroCup contest, and 19.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per VTB match.

Earlier in the offseason, Khimki added Greg Monroe, Jordan Mickey, and Evgeny Voronov, and also re-signed Devin Booker, Sergei Monia, Egor Vialtsev, and Alexey Shved.
