Khimki Moscow guard Stefan Jovic will be out for a period of 45 days to two months, coach Rimas Kurtinaitis said.
“With Jovic, the situation is worse than [Alexey] Shved. He didn’t break his leg but tore off the ligaments of the ankle. Doctors say that he’s out for about one and a half to two months,” Kurtinaitis revealed in the presser following the loss of Khimki to Zenit St. Petersburg in the teams’ opener for the 2020-2021 VTB League.
“This is one of the reasons for the loss to Zenit, that there was no single point guard with us,” he added.
Jovic’s injury may force him to miss the first ten rounds of the EuroLeague regular season. Khimki debuts against Panathinaikos at home on October 2.
