Bayern announced that the club was informed by the city of Munich that its 2020-21 EuroLeague opener against Olimpia Milano on October 2nd will have to be played behind closed doors.
The decisive factor for this decision was the number of coronavirus infections during the past week which, according to the city of Munich, was above the critical value of 35 newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants. At the same time, it was stipulated that the value must be below that number three days before a game so that spectators can be admitted.
The next home game for Bayern is against Olympiacos Piraeus on October 23rd.
