Keifer Sykes traveled to Athens for the Basketball Champions League Final Eight with Turk Telekom but after getting eliminated in the quarterfinals, he might stay and join Panathinaikos.
The sides are close to a deal, as sdna reported first and Eurohoops confirms. Panathinaikos has been looking to strengthen its backcourt due to Pierre Jackson and Howard Sant-Roos have problems with injuries.
The 26-year-old American guard started his career with the Austin Spurs before moving to Korea and Turkey on one-year stints. He put on a high-level season in 2018-19 with Sigidas Avellino, in both Italy and Basketball Champions League.
He played for Olimpia Milano last season, making his EuroLeague debut. One of his best performances came against Panathinaikos itself when he banked 17 points.
