Intriguing Panathinaikos options for EuroLeague Fantasy week

By Dimitris Minaretzis/ info@eurohoops.net

Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 5 remaining six games to be played this week limits our Fantasy choices to the 12 teams planned to get on the court Thursday and Friday. Three out of the nine originally scheduled affairs were postponed due to the positive coronavirus cases spreading within Zenit Saint-Petersburg, ALBA Berlin, and LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne.

Players from the mentioned teams and opponents, AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan, TD Systems Baskonia, and Anadolu Efes, are of no use this week.

Adjusted Fantasy regulations permit five changes instead of three, also last-minute alterations to your squad.

Panathinaikos players popping out with Papapetrou sidelined

This week our tips heavily focus on Panathinaikos OPAP due to Ioannis Papapetrou missing the home match versus Fenerbahce Beko. In full contrast, Lefteris Bochoridis will be back generating other options from the Greek powerhouse.

Bochoridis was in good shape for the opener earning Fantasy points. He only costs 0.58 units. Combined with the little depth in play-makers for head coach Giorgos Vovoras brings him up as a solid Fantasy option.

Leonidas Kaselakis is yet another budget-friendly player currently valued at 0.59 units. With Papapetrou out, he might be up for an upgraded role.

A similar context fits both Howard Sant-Roos and Konstantinos Mitoglou but at a higher price, 1.34 and 1.20, respectively. On extended minutes, they are expected to produce plenty of fantasy points.

More points and rebounds for Mitoglou who is already averaging over 15 points per match. Sant-Roos playing one through three may focus on the small forward position with Bochoridis back.

Four players from the same team are not allowed in a single Fantasy squad. It’s always unlikely for multiple players of one single side to register strong Fantasy outings. However, few options overall push us to Panathinaikos. A double Greens addition can do the trick this week, especially if pairing cheap and expensive players.

We expect Mitoglou to step up. He is our favorite here.
