All sports teams in Lithuania will play without fans going forward after the latest government restrictions, according to Donatas Urbonas.

The new rules will come into effect on October 30. This also includes Zalgiris which had around 5,000 fans in both Euroleague home games this season. Their next home game in EuroLeague is scheduled for November 6 against Real Madrid.

One of those games came against was the win over Anadolu Efes after which the Turkish side’s coach expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that some clubs have the advantage due to the crowd while others aren’t allowed to have fans in the stands.

The restrictions are expected to be made at Wednesday’s meeting, however, Zalgiris GM Paulius Motiejunas sent a proposal to the government to allow them to have up to 2,000 fans in the arena with two seats between each of them as well as in alternate rows.
