Five players scored in double figures for Baskonia that put on a beautiful offensive game to beat Panathinaikos Athens 93 – 72 at home and completed the double-game EuroLeague week with two wins.
Luca Vildoza and Alec Peters led the way for Baskonia with 19 points apiece while Pierria Henry finished with a double-double of 14 points and a career-high 12 assists. Rokas Giedraitis added 12 points and Tonye Jekiri 10.
Henry also gave Baskonia its first 20-point lead in the game with a 3-pointer from the top of the key for the 80 – 60 with five minutes to play. Giedraitis then hit another triple capping a 23 – 4 run during seven minutes of the third and fourth period. Panathinaikos, that suffered on both ends during the last 15 minutes, couldn’t hope to bring themselves out of that hole.
Ioannis Papapetrou dropped 17 points, Nemanja Nedovic posted 15 points plus five assists (but also six turnovers) and George Papagiannis registered 11 points and 10 rebounds. The “Greens” started the game up 2- 10 but fell behind by a double-digit deficit in the second period until trying to come back after the break. Baskonia though had many more offensive options and made the most out of its perimeter shots to close the game in top fashion.
