For one more round, Eurohoops dives in EuroLeague Fantasy to propose two Real Madrid players. The “Blancos” finished the previous week with two wins in Greece while playing… three overtime periods: Two against Panathinaikos Athens and one vs. Olympiacos Piraeus.
Real Madrid guard Nicolas Laprovittola had a fantastic game against Olympiacos and we suggest him based on two things:
1) His “back-to-back” performances. After such a game vs. Olympiacos, we believe that Laprovittola will have the confidence and also get some extra playing time by coach Pablo Laso to give us a couple of Fantasy points vs. Alba Berlin. He had 27 PIR vs. Olympiacos so anyone who added him on his team hit bingo.
2) His Fantasy price is extremely appealing: You don’t risk anything to give 0.61 Fantasy credits to get Laprovittola. And he may give you back a lot in return.
Laprovittola isn’t having a particularly good season and it makes sense for him to not cost so much in Fantasy. His price wasn’t increased even after the above numbers vs. Olympiacos so you now have a good opportunity to add him on your team.
Trey Thompkins also played really well against Olympiacos. The Real Madrid forward had a season-high 24 in PIR while scoring 15 on perfect shooting (3-3 apiece).
We also invest in Thompkins’ “back-to-back” but also decide to add him for another – unfortunate – reason: Anthony Randolph’s injury. The latter suffered a season-ending injury and Thompkins may now find himself spending a lot more time on the floor.
It’s not that he didn’t play much anyway since he’s been averaging around 22 minutes per game, being a basic part on Laso’s rotation. Still, Randolph’s absence can give him an extra role and more Real possessions will be executed by him.
Thompkins costs just 1.54, a number that is small for his quality and what is expected of him to give us in Fantasy from this point and onward.
