Olympiacos Piraeus is loaning guard Antonis Koniaris to Israeli Basketball Champions League team Hapoel Holon. The agreement is for the Greek player to join Holon for a month while there’s an option for the loan to be extended for the rest of the season.
If Koniaris is to stay with Holon for more than a month, then the team must first advance to the next stage of the Basketball Champions League since the player isn’t eligible to compete in the Israeli Winner League. Holon is currently 2-2 in the BCL regular season.
Koniaris has played just five minutes in one EuroLeague game this season, after averagin 13:22 minutes over 24 matches in 2019-2020. Both the player and Olympiacos were looking for an opportunity that would give him some sufficient time on the floor, hence his loan to Holon.
Olympiacos had signed Koniaris to a three-year deal in 2019.
