Leo Westermann was released today by Fenerbahce and he was expected to sign with Barcelona, however, according to a report by “Mundo Deportivo”, both his future and the future of Thomas Heurtel are in question.
“The operation is currently paralyzed”, according to the report, because “Barcelona feels cheated by Heurtel and his representation agency, Beobasket”.
Westermann would substitute Heurtel, with Barcelona expecting Heurtel to sign with Fenerbahce. However, Fenerbahce denied that they wanted to sign Heurtel and – as “Mundo Deportivo” reports – “the player is in advanced contact with Real Madrid to go to the eternal rival”.
That’s why Barcelona has frozen both deals, the signing of Westermann and the release of Heurtel. Barcelona doesn’t want to pay a termination fee to Heurtel and then have him play against them as a member of Real Madrid for obvious reasons.
Both players are represented by the same agency and the outcome of the case is still pending. What’s certain at this point is that Fenerbahce and Leo Westermann have officially parted ways.
