The duel between Olympiacos and Bayern went down to the wire and everything was riding on the final play.
Paul Zipser tried to win the game with a three-pointer but came into contact with Sasha Vezenkov who guarded him and threw an airball. There was no call at the time by referees but the EuroLeague Basketball report states that it was, in fact, a shooting foul.
Per EuroLeague Basketball:
Following speculation surrounding a no call during the fourth quarter of the Olympiacos Piraeus-FC Bayern Munich game played on January 8, 2019, Euroleague Basketball’s findings are:
In the fourth quarter, with 0:04.2 left on the game clock, the ball was inbounded by Nick Weiler-Babb of FC Bayern Munich. The ball was passed to Paul Zipser of FC Bayern Munich who, as he was in the act of shooting, was fouled on the body by Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus. This was an incorrect no call, which should have been called as an act of shooting foul on Sasha Vezenkov, resulting in three free throws for Paul Zipser.
