Following the new Israeli government restrictions taken last Sunday due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Anadolu Efes’ flight did not receive clearance to land in Tel Aviv, thus the game against Maccabi Tel Aviv was suspended.
Per EuroLeague:
The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 23 between Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Anadolu Efes Istanbul that was scheduled to be played on Thursday, January 28 at 20:05 CET, has been suspended due to the governmental restrictions from Israel causing the inability of Anadolu Efes Istanbul to reach Tel Aviv, where the game was to be held.
Anadolu Efes Istanbul’s flight didn’t receive the clearance from Israeli authorities following the exceptional flight restriction measures taken last Sunday due to the COVID-19 pandemic, limiting the flights arriving and departing from the airport.
In accordance with the Special Regulations due to COVID-19 in force, each game can be rescheduled or relocated up to three times, if there are available dates. Euroleague Basketball will coordinate with all teams the best options to reschedule or relocate their games. Alternative date or venue will be announced on official Euroleague Basketball platforms once confirmed.
