Mike James will not take part in CSKA Moscow‘s upcoming game against ALBA in Berlin for Round 22 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, per the decision of the club, and the next stop for him might be the exit door.
The reasons behind the decision were not specified by the team, though James recently lost his grandfather, as the player himself announced on his Instagram account. There are numerous reports throughout Europe about James and CSKA being at odds with the player wanting to travel to the States for the funeral.
According to Eurohoops sources, CSKA Moscow has not decided yet to part ways with Mike James, but this may change soon.
Until the end of the week, the club’s brass is expected to make their mind if they will release him, despite him signing a three-year deal last summer. Meanwhile, CSKA is already looking for a possible replacement
James has been among the leaders of the Army Team this season, with an average of 19.9 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds across 20 games.
