Following Nikola Milutinov’s season-ending injury, Tornike Shengelia is now the only star player on CSKA Moscow‘s frontline. We expect him to have an extra role on the offense, get more balls and a lot more rebounds.
Don’t rule out seeing Shengelia as a “5” since he has the size and strength to play in this position and cover the gap that’s left with Milutinov’s absence.
Shengelia’s numbers have been increasing and he’s now registering +10 in PIR for nine games in a row. His Fantasy price is now 1.78 credits and by taking Milutinov out of your team (he was priced at 2.67), you will also make a profit.
What would be our next option? CSKA big man Joel Bolomboy, the one who was coming off the bench to replace Milutinov. CSKA faces Valencia and we believe that Bolomboy can produce Fantasy points at an exceptionally small cost. His price is just 0.83 credits and he’s a player that will likely see 20 minutes on the court with Milutinov out. He gets rebounds and overall accumulate Fantasy points when he gets playing time.
When the season began and Milutinov was either out (COVID-19) or hadn’t found his form yet, Bolomboy averaged about 21 – 23 minutes and was solid. Now, he’s a smart option that will also leave you room (credits) to acquire a big name. Like Mike James who’s back with CSKA.
Attention: Two EuroLeague games (Zalgiris Kaunas – Crvena Zvezda and Maccabi Tel Aviv Khimki Moscow) are suspended. So you should modify your rosters accordingly, especially now that EuroLeague grants you five changes this week.
Derby: There’s the Olympiacos Piraeus – Panathinaikos Athens game this week. We believe that it’s difficult for a player to stand out in this kind of games (Tyrese Rice last year was perhaps an exception). So, we advise you to avoid the players of the two “eternal rivals.”
