EuroLeague Basketball imposed a temporary ban for Khimki Moscow Region to register new players, after an alleged infringement of overdue payables. The EuroLeague Basketball Finance Panel is currently investigating the team’s compliance status and a decision is expected within 30 days, according to the announcement.
Per EuroLeague:
The Euroleague Basketball Management Control Commission (MCC) has referred Khimki Moscow Region to the Finance Panel for further monitoring of the club’s compliance status with the Financial Stability and Fair Play Regulations (FSFPR).
The proceeding has been opened on the basis of an alleged infringement of overdue payables, under Article 32.a), of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code. The regulation whose compliance is in question concerns payments to Khimki players by the club. The case arose from a complaint filed with the MCC by the EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA). The decision from the Finance Panel is expected within 30 days, once the exchange of all communications is complete.
A transitory measure has been imposed by the Finance Panel banning Khimki Moscow Region from registering new players until their decision is issued.
