FC Barcelona announced that Pau Gasol successfully went through the medical part of his return to the Spanish powerhouse on Monday.
Gasol, 40, after the tests at Medicals at the Ciutat Esportiva, watched the junior team practicing and greeted his former Barca teammate Juan Carlos Navarro, technical secretary of the youth basketball section. He also talked with club president Joan Laporta.
The next step would be his return to action as Barcelona moves forward into its 2020-21 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and ACB campaigns. The team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius currently leads EuroLeague with a 20-8 record and ranks second in the Spanish league off a 19-3 run so far.
The European legend returned to his first pro team a couple of decades after his departure hoping to get ready to represent Spain in the Olympic Games planned to be held this summer in Tokyo.
