CSKA Moscow announced earlier today (March 29) that Mike James has been suspended for the upcoming games by the decision of coach Dimitris Itoudis.
The coach was a guest on the Greek national television and among other things, commented on the whole ordeal with James, although not revealing any details but explaining the principles he cherishes.
“The key for a team and especially for CSKA is to have stable management, a stable leader, stable values, a stable sponsor. That’s where it all begins. We are here to defend all this. Everyone is judged by their course. Everyday life between us is important, we all together define what a team means. There is no need for individual exceptions, the whole team decides the course and rejects everything that’s wrong,” Itoudis said and added.
“You can not be constantly out of the whole, the whole will reject you, this always happens on a team level. When soldiers/players tell stories, then they remember the days when they helped someone next to them and they won a trophy together. This is what we stand for and it is difficult. It’s not just talent that wins. Culture wins and what you have built. It would be a utopia for one to be able to put himself above the team. Not even in successes. Everyone has offered, everyone has fought. You must first have internal discipline in general in your life. Nobody is totally ready for that, we are not looking for perfection.”
