Vincent Poirier has been recently waived by the New York Knicks and is looking for the next step in his career, that could bring him back to Europe.
As reported by Chema de Lucas, Real Madrid is currently the frontrunner to sign the 27-year-old French big man for the upcoming season. About a week ago, Poirier himself stated that he wouldn’t rule out a return to Europe, as he “just wants to play”.
If the move proceeds, it will mark his return to the EuroLeague after last playing in the competition between 2017 and 2019 with Baskonia. Poirier was named in the All-EuroLeague second team in 2019 and has also been the competition’s rebound leader in the same season.
Poirier has logged ten games this season with the Philadelphia 76ers, with a limited playing time of four minutes on average.
