High-ranking officials of AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos OPAP, CSKA Moscow, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, Anadolu Efes, and Zalgiris Kaunas discussed the effect of the unprecedented limitations surrounding the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season on their financial state during a meeting in Athens. Donatas Urbonas first reported the meeting.

The clubs, represented by the high brass, raised many concerns coming off the season impacted from start to finish by the coronavirus pandemic and COVID-related restrictions. One of the main issues was the teams damaged by not having fans on the stands not receiving any financial help from the EuroLeague.

Another concern is not negotiating with ELPA about potentially adjusting player contracts pre-existing to COVID in order to help the clubs who have revenue issues.

Maccabi, the team considered to have lost the most revenue due to attendance restrictions, was among the most vocal teams in the meeting.

Euroleague Basketball was not informed about the meeting.
