With Leandro Bolmaro on the exit door and ready to join the Minnesota Timberwolves next season, Barcelona is in advanced talks with Zalgiris guard Rokas Jokubaitis, as reported by Donatas Urbonas.
Per the report, Jokubaitis has yet to decide about his future and there is a buyout clause in his current contract with Zalgiris. According to our own Chema de Lucas, Jokubaitis’ buy-out is expected to be around $ 350.000 plus a portion of his future NBA buy-out.
The 20-year-old Lithuanian guard enjoyed a breakthrough season in EuroLeague in which he posted 7 points and 2.5 assists in 31 games across 20 minutes on the court, while he registered a new career-high against Barcelona with 15 points back in April.
And Lithuanian coach Sarunas Jasikevicius wants him on board for next season, as it was recently said on the “2contra1” podcast.
Besides Jokubaitis, Barcelona looks to further strengthen the guard position and also has its radar on Kevin Pangos, who is still dwelling on Zenit’s contract extension offer and is willing to explore other options in the market.
Meanwhile, the Spanish club is also bracing for losing Leandro Bolmaro to the NBA, with Jokubaitis practically being his replacement.
