Barcelona managed to prevail against Olimpia Milano in the final seconds and advance to the EuroLeague Final where they will face off against Anadolu Efes.
Cory Higgins was the hero of the night with the game-winning shot but far from it that he was alone in his efforts. Some important contributions for Barca came from Pau Gasol who made sure his team started off on the right foot.
The two-time NBA champion has been constantly improving his outputs since returning to Europe and recovering from injury, and he has shown also on the big stage the qualities he still brings to the table.
The Spanish legend spent 11 minutes on the floor and logged ten points on 2-2 from deep while also adding three rebounds, one assist, and one block. Not to mention the defensive presence in the paint.
Quite a solid display and it becomes even more impressive with the fact that Gasol has now become the oldest player to appear in the EuroLeague Final Four at 40 years, ten months, and 22 days of age.
He got past Derrick Sharp who made an appearance back in 2011 in Maccabi Tel Aviv‘s jersey at the age of 39 years, seven months, and three days.
