Thomas Walkup has decided to continue his career in Olympiacos. According to Eurohoops sources, the player and the Greek club have a deal for a 2+1 contract. The fact that the contract includes an extension option for the summer of 2023 proved to be the key to the deal.

Despite the interest of Anadolu Efes, which was not transformed into a contract offer, and also the moves of Maccabi Tel Aviv and Zalgiris Kaunas, which wanted to keep him in Lithuania, Olympiacos managed to persuade the player to move to Greece.

The transfer is expected to be official in the next few days, or even hours.

The MVP of the Lithuanian LKL finals and also the best defender of the league averaged 8.2 ppg, 4,5 apg, 3 rpg, and 1,1 spg in the EuroLeague. He will share the duties in the point guard position with Kostas Sloukas.

The 28-years old guard started his pro career in 2016 with the Windy City Bulls in the G-League, then played during the 2017-18 season for MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg reaching the Basketball Champions League Final Four and since 2018 he was a member of Zalgiris Kaunas winning two LKL championship titles and two Lithuanian Cups.
