Marial Shayok and Fenerbahce have a deal for next season, as Eurohoops sources confirmed. The contact between the two sides was reported two days ago and Fenerbahce decided to pull the trigger and finalize the deal.
Shayok, 25, averaged 18.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 29.0 minutes over 12 games in the 2020-21 Turkish BSL League with Bursaspor. It was the first European experience for the Canadian player who had been waived by the Sixers in the offseason. However, his audition proved to be more than enough for him to gain a spot in the EuroLeague.
Fenerbahce is expected to make several changes in their roster for the upcoming season with Devin Booker and also Achille Polonara being near a deal with the Turkish powerhouse.
While it’s still early in the summer, Fenerbahce has already a clear pathway for the future of the roster which is expected to be set fully in motion and confirmed after the club elections which are scheduled for the 18-19 of June and, in case there’s not enough majority, for the 25-26 of June.
