With the season of Crvena Zvezda ending with the Serbian club winning both the Adriatic League and also the Serbian league championship title, Jordan Loyd is ready for the next step of his career.

The leader of Zvezda during the 2020-21 season will remain in Europe as a member of Zenit St. Petersburg. As it was earlier reported, the two sides are in advanced talks and a deal is expected to be finalized in the upcoming days.

The upcoming addition of Loyd is one more indication that Zenit is preparing for the upcoming EuroLeague season, even if officially the team has not secured yet the last available spot via wildcard for the 2021-22 season.

After an NBA championship-winning run with the Raptors, Loyd moved to Europe where he had a one-year stint with Valencia in 2019-20 after which he signed with Zvezda for this season.

The American guard had a great start to the season, putting his name among the MVP candidates early on, as the leading scorer of the competition. However, he somewhat slowed down afterward due to coronavirus issues, as well as the coaching changes in Crvena Zvezda.

He played 29 games in EuroLeague, averaging 17.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.2 steals.
