Olympiacos needs one more major piece to complete their roster and 33 years old David Lighty is one of the options that are under the team’s radar according to Eurohoops sources. The veteran guard/forward is currently still competing with LDLC ASVEL in the French league and he proved once more during the EuroLeague season that he can be an asset.
Lighty averaged 11.3 ppg while shooting 35% in threes and also having 2,8 rpg and 1.9 apg. It has to be noted that Lighty has a contract for the next two seasons with ASVEL, so in order for any move to happen, he must be released by his current team. That’s why nothing can happen before the end of the season in France, while Olympiacos is also examining other candidates.
However, if Lighty ends up signing with Olympiacos, he will find a number of familiar faces on the roster. The Reds have already signed Livio Jean-Charles from ASVEL last summer and they have also a deal with Moustapha Fall who is currently a teammate of Lighty in France.
Christos Harpidis of “Total Basket” reported first the interest of Olympiacos for Lighty.
