Promitheas Patras guard Michalis Lountzis will be signing a four-year deal with Olympiacos Piraeus in the following days according to Eurohoops sources.
Lountzis, 22, informed Promitheas Wednesday (16/6) night that he will be using a opt-out clause on his contract in order to become a free agent and be able to join Olympiacos. He will become the third addition of the Greek EuroLeague club after guard Thomas Walkup (his acquisition is already officially announced) and center Moustapha Fall.
Olympiacos is also negotiating the acquisition of David Lighty with ASVEL Villeurbanne.
Lountzis, who is currently practicing with the Greek national team ahead of the Olympic Qualifiers, averaged 8.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 31 Greek League games. He play for a EuroLeague club again following his stint with Panathinaikos Athens (2014 – 2017).
Greek newspaper “Peloponissos” first reported about Lountzis’ move to Olympiacos.
