Zenit St. Petersburg signed guard Dmitry Kulagin, the Russian club announced. Kulagin is back in action after a year of inactivity and returns to EuroLeague where he previously played with CSKA Moscow, winning the championship in 2016.

“Dmitry Kulagin is without a doubt a great Russian talent despite the fact that he was out of the game last season,” Zenit coach Xavi Pascual said, per the club. “He is a good and versatile player, can help the team as an attacking defender as well as a point guard. Good physical data is one of the strengths of Kulagin. Moreover, he is still a young player and has potential for growth. We are glad that Dmitry chose Zenit to continue his career!”

Kulagin, 28, last played with Lokomotiv Kuban in 2019-2020. He averaged 10.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 10 EuroCup games, plus 9.4 points, 4.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds in 14 matches of the VTB League.
