AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milano penned Dinos Mitoglou to a contract until the end of the 2022-23 season, the team announced Friday. The deal was reported by Eurohoops.
Per the press release: “Olimpia Milano signed Dinos Mitoglou to a two-year contract. Mitoglou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, on June 11, 1996. He is a 2.10 mt tall power forward coming from Panathinaikos Athens. “Mitoglou in spite of being still young is already an experienced player. He has the right skills to play at a very high level – Olimpia’s general manager Christos Stavropoulos said –We are happy that he chose Milano to continue his career and we are convinced that he is coming here at the right time for both sides.” “This is a new challenge for me so I can’t wait to start with my new team, coaches and teammates. I know that Olimpia has great aspirations and I will try to do everything that I can to achieve the goals we are going to set up for us,” Mitoglou said.
HIS CAREER – Dinos Mitoglou was raised in Thessaloniki, Greece, and made his top league debut with Paok during the 2013/14 season. In the summer of 2014, he transferred to the U.S. to play at Wake Forest, where over three seasons appeared in 96 games, averaged 9.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. He had a career-high of 28 points against Louisiana State when he made eight three-pointers. Before his senior season, he came back to Greece to spend four years at Panathinaikos. He’s halped his team to win the Greek championships for four straight seasons. During the last EuroLeague season, he averaged 9.3 points per game, 6.2 rebounds and shot 57.5 percent from two-point range. He finished the season fourth overall in offensive rebounds, tenth in total rebounds.
NOTES – Dinos Mitoglou has been coached at Wake Forest by Danny Manning, a former NBA’s number one pick in 1988. His father Dimitris has been a professional soccer player, his best years at PAOK. His brother Gerasimos is a soccer player too, with AEK Athens.”
