Dimitris Priftis made his decision and he will be the next coach of Panathinaikos. According to Eurohoops sources the two sides have a two-year deal and are finalizing some details, with one of them being a possible option for a third season.
Priftis wanted to return to Athens after seven years, three in Thessaloniki with Aris BC and four in Kazan with UNICS in order to be close to his family.
UNICS is expected to respect his wish and release him to the team in which as an associate head coach won the 2014 Greek league championship title.
It has to be noted that Priftis is leaving money on the table in order to sign with Panathinaikos. He will get less money from the Greek club compared to the 450.000 that he was in line to make for the 2021-22 season with UNICS.
