Olympiacos Piraeus announced that the club re-signed team great Giorgos Printezis for the 2021-22 season. This will be Printezis’ 20th year with the Reds.
“There wasn’t even a negotiation with the club presidents,” Printezis said per Olympiacos. “It was actually another friendly chat. I consider myself blessed to continue with Olympiacos.”
Printezis, 36, joined Olympiacos in 2001 and spent all of his career with the team except 2006 – 2007 (loan to Larissa) and 2009 – 2011 (Unicaja Malaga). The Greek forward has been one of the Olympiacos leaders following his return in 2011 and the man who handed them their first EuroLeague in 15 years when he scored the game-winner in the 2012 championship game vs. CSKA Moscow.
In 2013, Printezis and Olympiacos became back-to-back EuroLeague champions On a domestic level, he’s won the 2012, 2015 and 2016 Greek League plus the 2011 Greek Cup.
