He was nearing a deal with Barca, as Eurohoops reported.
Laprovittola, 31, is currently in Tokyo competing for Argentina in the Olympic Games. At the club level, he spent the last two seasons with Real Madrid and departed upon the conclusion of his contract.
The experienced point guard marked his third Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season with 6.8 points, 3.8 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per appearance with Madrid. He added 9.5 points, 3.9 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per ACB match.
The previous offseason moves for Barca brought in young upstart Rokas Jokubaitis and defending EuroLeague champ Sertac Sanli. Also, Cory Higgins, Alex Abrines, and Sergi Martinez were re-signed.
