Barcelona coach Sarunas Jasikevicius hopes that the team will retain newly-acquired guard Rokas Jokubaitis at least for the upcoming season.
Though, that may depend on how high Jokubaitis goes in the upcoming NBA Draft (29/7).
“The idea is that he stays with us. But if Rokas is chosen very high, that will mean that his franchise will want him to go to play as soon as possible,” Jasikevicius said to Mundo Deportivo. “If that happens we will have to make another adjustment, although I hope that Rokas will continue with us.” Jokubaitis signed a five-year deal with the Blaugrana earlier in July.
Jokubaitis, 20 is projected as a second-round pick by multiple mock Drafts. The highly likely outcome is that if he’s indeed selected by a team in the second round, then he will remain stashed and spend the upcoming year with Barcelona.
In 2020-21, Jokubaitis averaged 7.0 points and 2.5 assists in 20:55 minutes in EuroLeague.
