Vassilis Kavvadas has signed a one-year contract with an option for another season with Panathinaikos. The team announcement is pending.
Kavvadas, 29, joins the Greens after parting ways with Iraklis. He spent the last couple of seasons at the team based in Thessaloniki logging 12.3 points and 8.9 rebounds per game in Greece’s Basket League in 2020-21.
The Greece national team regular previously played for AEK, Aris, Arkadikos, Olympiacos, and Panionios. His new stop leads him back to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague after appearing in 16 matches with the Reds in 2013-14 and 2014-15.
The list of summer newcomers for the team led by Dimitris Priftis already featured Alpha Diallo, Nikos Chougkaz, Jehyve Floyd, Okaro White, and Daryl Macon Jr.
UPDATE: Panathinaiko announced the acquisition of Kavvadas.
