While it wasn’t certain that guard T.J. Bray will continue with Panathinaikos, the American player has began practicing with the team and will stay for the upcoming season.
Bray’s contract with Panathinaikos is set to expire in 2023 but the Greek powerhouse was looking for a way to terminate the deal and release the player. The negotiations between the two sides didn’t result in an agreement so Bray is now preparing for the next season with the rest of the Greens.
Panathinaikos already has seven foreign (non-European passport holders) players and has yet to complete its offseason moves.
Bray, 29, averaged 10.8 points and 3.0 assists in 24:14 minutes in the 2020-21 Greek League, helping Panathinaikos win the championship title. He joined the team in February after beginning the season with Bayern Munich and then having a brief stint with Zaragoza.
